Why should I be your coach?

What do I bring to the table as a coach?

And what makes you a good prospective client if you’re unsure if working with me is right for you?

  • I’ve worked at a number of world-class companies, including ESPN, Google, Gatorade, Meta, Peloton, and Rokt, rising to Director and VP roles. I’ve built and led sales, leadership, and learning & development teams using both the art and science of growth to deliver results that mattered.

  • I earned the titles, money, and recognition and I understand their appeal. They absolutely mattered, but I also knew they didn’t tell the whole story. I wasn’t interested in chasing someone else’s definition of success and wanted my strengths to drive my success on my terms.

  • With two young kids and all the joy and demands that come with them, I coached when I could, but wanted more. So I left corporate life to pursue this work full time.

Coaching isn’t a side hustle for me. It’s the same journey I’ve been on, continue to walk, and now guide others through.

  • Everyone has their own unique definition of success - not only what they achieve but how and why they achieve it. My coaching goes beyond high performance to true transformation. It’s about setting a bold vision, turning commitments into action, and creating breakthroughs that last. I don’t want to ask my clients to do things I haven’t done or won’t do, myself.

…and no, that does not mean you need to quit your job to make the leap.

Is coaching even right for me?

Coaching is not for everyone, and that’s OK. Real transformation takes curiosity, courage, and a desire and willingness to be challenged.

Think of it like a difficult workout class, where the best instructors are demanding without being demeaning. Where they set a high bar and push you to reach and exceed it. You’ll leave energized and exhausted, sore but stronger, and eager for the next class.

If you’re only after easy answers or quick fixes, this won’t be a fit. But if you’re ready to lean into the right kind of challenge to create real change, I’d love to work with you.

Coaching with Mike is for:

High achievers in the messy middle - successful on paper, but restless, stressed, or unfulfilled despite having a lot to be proud of and grateful for.

Professionals who know wins that look good don’t always feel good, and are striving for success that’s better, not just more.

Leaders ready to push beyond goals and build clarity, momentum, and lasting transformation for themselves and for their teams.

People who don’t just want encouragement, but a partner who will challenge, question, and stretch them.

Coaching with Mike is not for:

People looking for quick fixes, hacks, or rah-rah motivation. Coaching is different from situation-specific consulting or advising.

People who only care about external metrics (titles, promotions, money) without interest in deeper growth. Goals are good, but coaching is more transformational than transactional.

People expecting pre-packaged solutions instead of engaging in discovery, action, and accountability.

Anyone unwilling to be challenged and uninterested in answering thoughtful questions.
